Netizens have this to say about the difference between jeans and denim.

A:What’s the difference between jeans and denim? I always called everything jeans, like the pants, jeans jacket, jeans hat etc.

B:0% expert here, but I’d guess that jeans are “pants made out of denim”. “Jeans” are just a name for that kind of garment. The material is denim. If it were a jacket, it would be a denim jacket. That said, everybody would understand what you meant if you said “jean jacket”.

C:Denim is a fabric.Jeans are pants made of denim.
D:jeans represent the colloquial term for denim apparel.

jeans can be understood as trousers made of denim. a jean jacket, jean bag, jean boots can be understood as denim apparel.

denim is typically used in reference to the textile. you likely wouldn’t hear someone say “jean wall paper” if someone decided to use denim to decorate their walls. you would say denim fabric. denim couch, denim curtains. all things that exist in this world by some grace of god.

Then, another netizen raised another question: does he dislike jeans?

AA:Why do people like wearing jeans? They’re the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever worn and people always go on about how comfy they are.

BB:High likelyhood you haven’t found a well fitting pair in the cut you like. I used to hate jeans and then I realized my parents had always gotten me super heavy jeans with a straight cut and it was always uncomfortable.

Are you male or female? Bc that changes the Jean scene a bit

CC:Dude chiming in.. The main reason I don’t wear anything but jeans is pocket space. Wallet/two phones (work phone), keys, smokes, pocket knife, ect… can’t be hauling all that around in sweatpants. The only thing I find more comfortable that can still hold those are probably cargo pants but I think it makes you look kinda dorky depending on your job, lol.

DD:I have a secret for you – black cargo pants. The pockets don’t stand out if it’s all black, because it’s hard to tell fine shapes without shadows n stuff, so you don’t look dorky. Basically looks like sweatpants.

EE:Haha, I own many pairs of various cargo pants. Main problem being can only wear them on casual fridays at work. Rest of the week it’s “see what I can fit in these stupid dress pants and put the rest in my briefcase” I really don’t understand the antiquated dress expectations in the business world.. I suspect by the time I’m considered old (20+ years) it’ll be almost non existent.

But I do own several for various airsoft/paintball kits and the pockets in those bad boys are great I could fit a small village in there.

FF:TIL some people think clothes are dorky, that aren’t in 6th grade.

NO hate, everybody has something that stands out to them. I personally haven’t worried about what to wear (outside of what the dress code is) since high school age.

I am a stay at home dad now and wear either denim cargo or “tacti-kakis” every day. That being said 5.11 makes slacks that look nice enough for church wear but have pockets like cargos.

GG:I didn’t mean dorky in the sense that I would be worried about what other people think, lol trust me there I’m way past that stage in my life too 😅 I meant it in the sense that my job is 75% office related and only 25% am I out in the field so I tend to wear more professional appearance rather then rocking some tactical khakis with 87 pockets because to me that would look silly chillin at the desk and not doing any sort of psychical work lol.

HH:I’m all a sweatpants man but jeans aren’t that bad, thing is you just have to find the JUST RIGHT size that fit you perfectly, a little too tight and you can expect a scratchy ass, a bit too big and you can expect your pants brushing the floor

II:I’ve been wearing jeans so long, I’m just used to them. The thing I don’t get is how people can walk around their house, when they’re home alone or whatever, without pants on. That just seems incredibly uncomfortable to me.

JJ:Because they durable, have pockets, more professional than sweat pants and yogi pants. You can walk through the bushes for a hundred miles and still have your jeans intact. If you did that with yogi pants, your legs would be bloody.

KK:I used to think the same, until I found the stretchy jeans. Life changing. Uniqlo has great ones, they feel like sweat pants lol

LL:I finally found a brand/style I really like! They’re the only ones that are comfortable for me.

Like dress clothes you can get jeans tailored to fit you, making them way more comfortable. Cuz unfortunately the designers thing everyone is the same shape.

MM:It sucks cause socially you’re looked down on if you wear sweatpants but they’re 300x comfier than jeans.. I found these “skinny Jean” fitted sweat pants that are as comfy as sweats but look fashionable enough to not be considered a bummy. Life changing.

NN:Different people can enjoy certain things for different reasons. Part of the original attraction with blue denim jeans was their utility, easily available and inexpensive. They were tough and durable work-wear before they turned into fashion items.

With clothing, comfort is often acquired over time. An old, worn item sometimes becomes moulded to the shape of its wearer. That can become contrasted against new items, which require to be “broken in” before they begin to sit comfortably upon a person.

As a fabric, denim cotton nowadays comes in plenty of different weaves and thicknesses. This means that purchases won’t necessarily have any huge consistency, especially if buyers are sampling a range of brands and styles from different manufacturers. Many denim lovers will stick with a particular brand – although a need to change sizes can also lead to a switch in loyalties. My own experience was that I was happy in Wranglers when my waist was 28″, but by 32″ I was more fond of Levi 501 Originals. After I passed beyond 34″ neither brand felt so good on me anymore.

OO:So I’m 18 and I too used to hate wearing jeans. This was mainly because I didn’t like the way they fit me. However when I was 16 I started buying jeans from abrocrombie. Although they were rough as hell, I still liked the way they fit. After that, I went and bought jeans at American Eagle. I think the ones I buy are 360 degree extreme flex, but they are amazing. I can literally work out in them. I can do a complete squat and they don’t restrict my movement at all. I feel like I’m wearing nothing because they’re so comfortable. They’re also really soft.

I honestly recommend that you go to an American Eagle and try on one of their pairs. I think they have 5 different styles, from super skinny to husky. I find the slim straight fit fits me best since I am pretty skinny. My point is they have a large selection for different body types and they’re really comfortable and don’t restrict movement. I even got my father who is 65 hooked on these jeans. He won’t wear any other jeans. Anyways, I wish you luck on your jean issue!!

PP:I pretty much hated jeans until I bough jeans that are super/ultra stretch or something like that. They costed me $50 but I love them. My wife made me try them on, I didn’t want to because of how expensive they were but I ended up buying them and got a few additional ones over time.

If anybody can tell me were to get those at a cheaper price I would appreciate it!

QQ:Most people are idiots. We are not most people. We are antijeanists. We have the sensitivity and acumen to reject intrinsically poor textiles!
